The Interizon Cluster is a stakeholder in the international DEBUTING project, actively supporting its partner, the Pomeranian Voivodeship, by sharing best practices in the project’s thematic areas

DEBUTING introduces a new perspective on gender equality as a factor in SME competitiveness, approaching the issue through clusters in the context of public policy-making. Among SMEs, the business value of gender equality is still not sufficiently recognised, and even when it is recognised, companies often face the practical challenge of how to implement it effectively. There is a clear need for capacity building to help SMEs develop business models that incorporate gender equality and foster a supportive, gender-friendly work culture. At the same time, it is necessary to strengthen the public policy framework to better support SMEs in maintaining their competitiveness, innovation and ability to create new market opportunities through a more inclusive approach.

Clusters, as recognised drivers of change, play a key role in this process. They are well-equipped to support SMEs in implementing gender equality measures and play a vital role as stakeholders in the design and implementation of the Smart Specialisation Strategy.

The DEBUTING project involves 12 partners from 11 regions, who aim to bring about changes in their public policy instruments through the implementation of the project. Project activities include, amongst others:

  • 28 interregional events for learning in the field of public policy,
  • at least 23 exchanged good practices,
  • 85 regional stakeholder group meetings involving 103 organisations.

Interizon’s involvement contributes to knowledge exchange, strengthens interregional cooperation and supports the development of innovative solutions that enhance the region’s competitiveness and transformation.

The DEBUTING project consistently paves the way for sustainable and inclusive innovation that benefits business, science and regional economies. The DEBUTING project is implemented under the Interreg Europe 2021-2027 programme.
